君の学ぶ意欲とそのパーソナリティできっと学校の人気者です。

合格することが目的ではなく、中学3年生から日本の教育とは全く違うIB、異なる文化や学問領域を横断的に学ぶ教育でも活躍できるようにエッセイの特訓では社会のさまざま事柄について考え、疑問を持ち、調べ、50、60、それ以上のエッセイを書いて準備をしてきました。

合格してもTorataくんは今までと変わらず、学びを止めません。
そこが彼の大きな強みです。
そして、頑張る力だけではなく、とにかく素晴らしいパーソナリティ、誰にでも愛される、誰もが話していて気持ちがいいと笑顔になる。

そんな青年がグランディールからマルバーンへ、そして日本人としてのアイデンティティをもって世界に羽ばたいていくのはとても嬉しいことです。

Malvern College Tokyo に進む Torataくんが書いたエッセイを2つご紹介します。

「The Russia and Ukraine War」

There have always been wars going on, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine. In Ukraine, people do not have enough food, no place to live, and they are unemployed (Rudolfsen et al., 2022). Therefore, Ukrainians have to live in another country as refugees (War in Ukraine, 2023).  Russia is invading Ukraine (Why did Russia Invade Ukraine, 2024). They have killed a lot of Ukrainian soldiers and kidnapped children (Ukraine Crisis, n.d.). Researching why the war against Russia and Ukraine started, the negative effects on the world, and how Ukraine would be affected helps people understand what is currently happening in the world.

Russia and Ukraine are in a war and they are experiencing problems. In February 2022, Putin again claimed that Ukrainians and Russians are one country. However most Ukrainians disagree. The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, told Putin that “Ukrainians want peace, but that if they need to, they will defend their country’s independence. And Putin invaded, and this time his plan is to take over the entire country”(David, 2022). That means their opinions are different and also Ukrainians disagree about Putin's opinions such as them being brothers. Due to this war a lot of things have become more expensive such as food and other things.

This war has had a negative effect on the world. For instance, business and food are two of the things that have been affected the most. First, business in Ukraine has been greatly damaged, “… a negative impact on business through limited access to funds, reduced purchasing power, an increasing inflation rate, and a threat to sustainable growth and restrictions on trade”. (Prohorovos, 2022). That is why prices have gone up. For example, on food, clothes and other things. The price of food has become more expensive. The reason is that “Ukraine is now one of the most food-insecure countries in the world, despite being one of the world’s biggest exporters of crops, such as maize, barley and wheat, before the war”(kilfoyle, 2023). Which is why recently a lot of food has become more expensive than before. That is why this war has caused a lot of problems.

If Russia were to win this war, Ukraine would be horribly affected. Such as what happened to Japan when they lost the war against America. In Ukraine, for example, all of its governmental power will be lost to Russia. Micheal Fifoyle mentioned that,  “Ukraine would likely lose control of some or all of the territories currently occupied by Russia.” (Kilfoyle, 2023). If Russia wins, it would be difficult for Ukraine to get its power back. Another reason is that Ukrainians will leave their country. “Many more Ukrainians will flee if Russia is able to seize more Ukrainian territory.” (Pinchuk, 2023). Therefore a lot of Ukrainians will not and have not had an easy life in Ukraine and many have become refugees, having to find another country to go to that place. Which is why if Ukraine loses this war Ukraine will have a harmful problem.

Ukraine and Russia are still at war and this war is having a lot of negative effects on the world. Such as, a lot of things have become more expensive and some Ukrainians are now refugees. This is a negative effect on this war and in the future many people hope for this war to end and Ukrainians look forward to going back to their homes. That is why this war has caused a lot of negative effects and they should finish this fight quickly.

「Technology」

 Recently modern technology has changed the world however,  it has positive and negative points such as communication and work. For  communication, a lot of people often use their smartphones and talk  with someone easily.  But some people have lost their jobs  because of modern technology improvements . Modern technology has changed the world of medicine and of business in a positive, but society in a negative way.  

With the help of technology, doctors and researchers have made significant strides in treating and preventing diseases. The reason is that, “Technology has made it possible for medical professionals to access patient records and communicate with other healthcare providers, which has improved the quality of care for patients” (keyTech 2023). Another reason is that, when people go to the hospital, people have to check a body and some hospital using modern technology and do it easily.  Which is why recently modern technology has helped the medical world. 

Business has gained positive impacts due to modern technology. “Technology has enabled businesses to expand their reach globally, allowing them to access new markets and customers. For instance, businesses can now use e-commerce platforms to sell their products to customers in different parts of the world” (ONPASSIVE, 2023). That is why a lot of companies sell things easier and also a lot of people buy it easily too. Another reason is that “technology has also made it easier for companies to enter new markets by providing information about local markets and customer preferences.” That means a lot of companies can sell things in a lot of places so they can make more money. In other words, people know certain companies because in order to have more customers, the companies set up their markets online as well as using technology to see what it is their customers want and are able to have more business world wide. Which is why modern technology helps businesses.

However, AI has been having a negative impact on today's society. The reason is that,  “there is a growing concern about the potential negative effects of artificial intelligence and automation on jobs and the economy.” (Linkedin, 2023) That means if AI improves more in the future, people can not get a job easily. This is bad because If people lose their jobs people can not eat food and can not stay in their homes. Moreover, “there are concerns about the impact of social media on mental health and well-being, particularly among young people.”  (Linkedin, 2023) which is why when people use social media, they use AI to bully others, such as influencers. Take for instance, a famous Japanese comedian, Ryuchell, he was transgender and he also had a child and when he posted a photo on instagram, a lot of people said bad things to him and his mental health went down. Recently, he committed suicide because of the bullying. That is why modern technology has a negative impact on society.

Modern technology has changed the world. The reason is that modern technology has helped medicine. For example, doctors and researchers can use these modern technologies to communicate and improve the quality of care for patients. In the future, modern technology will be stronger and more people will benefit from technological improvements. This is how modern technology has changed the world.
